I've mostly heard Diva recommended when it comes to emulating 80s retro sounds.

That's definitely another plus factor right there. And even those have scalable GUI which is so cool. So far I have only played with the CM versions of u-he's plugins and really like their sound.

That makes me very interested in software to buy.

I've become very interested in u-he's plugins, mostly because of the nice protection which is serial number only. Thank you for writing that, I really enjoy reading your posts.

If I had the spare cash I would buy all the synths - including Sektor.ĭefinitely demo them and make up your own mind. And it's not coming out of some childish tribal loyalty.

These synths can be scaled up to fit many screen sizes. I do not have the linguistic abilities to describe how good Diva sounds with a simple saw going through a ladder filter.

However, the full price of Hive or Diva or Zebra is, to me, worth it.ĭefinitely download the demo versions and see for yourself. I don't mean to offend anyone, but I wince when I see the full price of Sektor or something. I have become a huge fan of U-he's synths because I feel they are such a pleasure to use that it facilitates my productively and yields practical results. This sounds stupid, but I will have one or maybe two instances of it on a project and print out parts as I write them. Diva is still capable of making modern sounds, but I tend to treat is as "virtual hardware". There are lots of options which are hidden to prevent clutter, but easily accessible - such as modulating wow/flutter on the delay etc.ĭiva, by comparison, is simpler, capable of less, but focused purely on sound quality. The documentation is well written too, and worth reading. I have made two tracks using only Hive2 since it came out. Honestly I am having a bit of trouble putting this synth down. Now they've added wavetables and some new modulation options, it does way more and is surprisingly light for what it can do. When Hive first came out, it was seen as a "sylenth" rival.

S1 users feel free to test this out with uhe plugins (they have free demos as well) if you want and let me know if playing wiht your normal keyboard using Studio One's virtual keyboard causes stuck notes. This subreddit is dedicated to getting posting the best deals on audio plugins and hardware available as things go on sale.īecause of the nature of this subreddit, the rules will be strictly enforced. Here is the response from u-he:Īlso several other people tried it and they also got stuck notes, sometimes it only happened when the virtual keyboard was not on top of/overlaying the Hive GUI. The problem doesnt seem to be on u-he's side, as I already forwarded the issue to Urs and his team over at KVR. I have not had this issue, at least not this consistently with any other synths or sample libraries (kontakt). But unfortunately I find the great synths from u-he to be almost unusable in Studio One with this method, as for some reason when it comes to their plugins (zebra, dive, hive, etc.) the notes keep getting stuck on the virtual keyboard, and the only way to to make them stop playing is to reset the synth instance or delete the track and re add the track. Sometimes I use the virtual keyboard in Studio One to audition sounds for virtual instruments. I would like to ask Presonus if it would be possible to look into a bug with Studio One that I have had for a long while now.
